ABOUT
El Paso SLI Sign Language Interpreters, LLC was founded in 2009 by Tamara Gastelum. She graduated from EPCC with her Associates of Applied Science Degree in the Sign Language Interpreter Training Program (ITP) and then obtained her Bachelors of Applied Science with a focus on Sign Language Interpreting from Sienna Heights University located in Adrian Michigan. She holds both a Texas Board of Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) certificate and a National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certificate. With over 20 years of experience in a variety of interpreting settings and her extensive background, she has grown El Paso SLI to proudly serve the El Paso Deaf Community with a Deaf heart. Both of Tamara's parents and Uncle are Deaf and she is known as a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). Being brought up in a Deaf house hold gave her the rich cultural experiences and native language she applies to her work daily. El Paso SLI proudly serves the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community of El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. The team consists of the best and most highly qualified Interpreters in the city. Always keeping in mind that our purpose is to provide excellent communication access to our consumers. As trained Sign Language Interpreters of American Sign Language it is our goal to understand the cultural and linguistic needs of the community we serve. We tailor our work to help build a bridge between the hearing, Deaf, and hard of hearing communities.

Administrative Manager / Scheduler
Alice Marquez is the Administrative Manager and she takes care of daily operations. If you have any questions about needing an interpreting agency or have billing questions Alice is here to help you.
Lead Community Interpreter
Celina Salloum is the lead community interpreter for El Paso SLI. Holding her National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) NIC Certification. She is here to help answer any interpreting questions from both interpreters and customers.
