El Paso SLI is a minority- and women-owned American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting agency dedicated to bridging communication gaps nationwide. Founded in El Paso, Texas, our agency was built on a deep cultural and linguistic foundation one rooted in Deaf community connections and lived experience. We provide reliable, professional interpreting services while championing accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity in every setting.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Tamara Marquez 

Tamara Marquez​ is the CEO of El Paso SLI, a nationally recognized, minority- and women-owned American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting agency serving clients across the United States. A native ASL user and proud CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), Tamara has been immersed in Deaf culture and language since birth. Her lifelong connection to the community gives her a unique perspective that shapes her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to true accessibility.

With over 23 years of professional interpreting experience across medical, educational, legal, and community settings, Tamara is nationally certified by RID (NIC) and holds the Texas BEI Level I certification. For more than 15 years, she has led El Paso SLI with a commitment to cultural and linguistic integrity, ensuring that Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals have equal access to communication in every environment.

Tamara’s leadership extends beyond interpreting services she has grown El Paso SLI into a trusted agency that partners with schools, hospitals, government entities, and businesses across the country. She is also passionate about mentorship, supporting new interpreters and fostering professional excellence within the field.

Currently pursuing her Executive MBA at the University of Texas at El Paso, Tamara combines lived experience, business strategy, and cultural expertise to continue advancing accessibility and inclusion on a national scale.

Celina is a certified RID interpreter with experience across medical, educational, and community settings. As Interpreter Team Lead & Internship Coordinator, she supports the interpreter team while also overseeing internship development and fostering strong connections within the community.
